Terzo Millenio: Beast with an electric heart
Though the world is
moving toward an electric future, the sports cars don’t seem to be
in a mood to give up their untamed IC engines which make them a beast
in true senses. But, not even once failed to fascinate the world with
its engineering marvels, Lamborghini has hit back with its “Beast
from the future”.
A beast in its true sense, “Terzo Millenio”
has got all the legacy of the Lamborghini but it has got an electric
heart which makes it different from all the other variants of the
company.
You cannot expect
anything less when two marvels like the MIT and the Lamborghini
collaborate on a project. Though, it’s gonna take time before the
“Terzo Millenio” can become reality but it’s features are
enough to give goosebumps to the rivals. If Lamborghini was ever to
make the X-men team, then the “Terzo Millenio” would certainly
have been the Wolverine among them. I am not exaggerating it but I’m
making this comparison as it has got the feature of self-healing. MIT
researchers have taken the material science to anew level by
employing the nano-tubes in the body of this beast. Another purpose
behind using the carbon nano-structure is to diffuse the nano charges
into CFK-based panels which will convert the fuselage into an energy
storage device.
While talking about
the power, “Terzo Millenio” will be powered by four motors
attached to each wheel. Lamborghini claims to use the
super-capacitors as a power source for its beast as the current
battery technology doesn’t seem viable to them. If we talk about
the current situation, then the use of super-capacitors to power a
super car is next to impossible due to its limited energy density.
But, Lamborghini is working on the development of high energy density
super-capacitors which will make the batteries obsolete. While
talking about the signature fire-sound of the Lamborghini, then the
plans are to define a sound able to substitute one of today’s V12.
Images have also revealed the signature Y rear lights boasting the
Lamborghini culture.
While you cannot
expect the “Terzo Millenio” on the roads any sooner but can just
fascinate yourself with the thoughts of raging this beast through the
roads.
